Refunds & Cancellation

How the trial works, how to stop paying, and what happens to your resumes afterwards.

Last updated 7 August 2026

Cancel any time from Settings → Plan & billing. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, and your resumes and applications are never deleted for cancelling.

1. What costs money

The free plan costs nothing, needs no card, and does not expire. It includes a monthly allowance of AI tailors, plus unlimited editing, exporting and application tracking.

Pro is CA$19 per month, billed monthly. There is no annual plan. Pro removes the tailoring limit; everything else is already unmetered on free.

2. The 7-day trial

Pro starts with a 7-day free trial. A valid card is required to begin it, but nothing is charged during those 7 days. Your first payment is taken on day 8.

Cancel at any point before day 8 and you are charged nothing at all. You can do that yourself in Settings; you do not need to email us.

The trial is once per customer. Resubscribing later starts billing immediately.

3. Cancelling

Go to Settings → Plan & billing → Manage billing. That opens Stripe's billing portal, where you can cancel, change your card, or download invoices.

Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not end your access immediately — you stay on Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, then move back to the free plan.

If you cannot reach the portal for any reason, email support@theeasyapply.com and we will cancel it for you. We will never make you argue with someone to stop paying.

4. Refunds

We refund, without argument, in these cases:

  • Charged during the trial. Full refund. This should be impossible; if it happens it is our bug.
  • You meant to cancel and forgot, and have not used a tailor this period. Full refund of that period if you ask within 14 days of the charge.
  • The service was substantially broken for a meaningful part of your billing period. Pro-rata or full refund depending on how bad it was.
  • We removed a feature you were paying for, or shut the service down. Pro-rata refund of the unused period.
  • Duplicate or accidental charge. Full refund.

Outside those cases we generally do not refund a period you have used, because the free plan and the 7-day trial exist precisely so you can find out whether the product is for you before paying. If your situation is not covered above, email us anyway and explain — we would rather refund someone than have them feel cheated.

Consumer rights. If you are in the UK or EU you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase. Because the service is available immediately, you are asked to acknowledge that the service starts at once; you may still cancel within 14 days and we will refund the amount less any period already supplied. Nothing on this page reduces your statutory rights.

5. How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original card through Stripe. Stripe typically takes 5–10 business days to return the money, and we have no way to speed that up. We will confirm by email when we have issued it.

If you are considering a chargeback, email us first. We will almost certainly just refund you, and it is faster than a dispute.

6. What happens to your data

Nothing is deleted because you stopped paying. Downgrading to free keeps every resume, application and export you have. You go back to the free monthly tailoring allowance; editing, exporting and tracking stay unmetered as they always were.

Tailors you have already used in the current period are not restored by cancelling — otherwise cancelling and resubscribing would be a way to refill them.

Deleting your data is a separate, deliberate action in Settings → Data & privacy. See the privacy policy.
