Terms of Service

The agreement between you and us. Written to be read — if any of it is unclear, ask and we will explain rather than point at a clause.

Last updated 7 August 2026

1. Who you are agreeing with

TheEasyApply is operated by Tanay Van and Malhar Lumbhani, two individuals rather than an incorporated company. "We" and "us" mean them. "You" means the person using the service.

Using the service means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it — and if you have already paid, clause 9 explains how to get your money back.

2. What the service does

TheEasyApply lets you:

  • Import an existing resume, or build one through a guided interview.
  • Edit it, restyle it, and export it as PDF, Word or plain text.
  • Ask an AI to propose changes tailored to a job posting, then approve, edit or decline each one.
  • Track applications, and keep the exact resume version you sent with each.
  • Browse job postings harvested from supported company career pages.

We may change or remove features. If we remove something you are paying for, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of your period.

3. Your account

You need an account for everything except the demo. You must be at least 16, give accurate details, and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

One account is for one person. Sharing a login with colleagues is not permitted.

4. What the AI does, and what it does not

The AI proposes; you decide. Nothing it suggests reaches your resume until you approve it, and you are responsible for the accuracy of everything you send to an employer.

Every suggestion is shown as a tracked change with its reason, and you approve, edit or decline each one. We built it this way deliberately, but it puts the final check on you — and it has to, because we cannot know your history.

Language models get things wrong. They can overstate, infer things you did not say, or phrase a real achievement in a way that reads as a bigger claim than you intended. Where a suggestion introduces an estimated figure we label it and require you to confirm it individually. That is a safeguard, not a guarantee.

Do not approve a claim you cannot back up in an interview. Misrepresentation on a resume is your risk, and it is a serious one.

Match scores and strength meters are computed by fixed rules over keywords. They describe overlap with a job posting. They do not predict whether you will be interviewed, and no employer uses our number.

5. What we do not promise

  • That you will get an interview, an offer, or any response at all.
  • That any applicant tracking system will parse, score or accept your resume in a particular way.
  • That the job board contains every relevant role — it covers supported company career pages, not the whole market.
  • That AI output is accurate, complete, or suitable without your review.
  • That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

We are two people running this. We will tell you when something is broken rather than pretend otherwise, but we cannot offer an uptime guarantee.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload anyone else's resume or personal data without their permission.
  • Use the service to create deliberately false credentials or employment history.
  • Scrape, resell, or rebuild the job board or any other part of the service.
  • Attempt to bypass quotas, rate limits or payment, or to access another account.
  • Send content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Automate access in a way that degrades the service for others.

We can suspend or close an account that does these things. Where it is proportionate we will warn you first.

7. Who owns what

Your content is yours. Your resumes, applications and everything you write remain your property. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, render it, and send the relevant parts to the AI providers listed in the privacy policy when you ask for a tailor. That permission ends when you delete the content.

We do not use your resumes to train models, and we do not publish or share them.

The software, templates, branding and interface are ours. Documents you produce with them are yours to use however you like, including commercially.

8. Plans and payment

The free plan includes a monthly allowance of AI tailors. Editing, exporting and application tracking are unmetered on every plan and we intend to keep them that way.

Pro is CA$19 per month with a 7-day free trial. It renews automatically until you cancel. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. Prices may change, and we will give at least 30 days' notice before a change affects an existing subscription.

Full details are in the refund and cancellation policy.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time: cancel from Settings, and delete your account there too if you want the data gone. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone, so export first.

We can suspend or close your account for a serious or repeated breach of clause 6, or if we are legally required to. If we close your account for any other reason — including shutting the service down — we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your work, and refund any unused paid period.

10. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights and nothing in these terms reduces them.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: the service is provided as is; we are not liable for lost job opportunities, lost earnings, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss; and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.

11. Changes to these terms

We will post material changes in the product before they take effect, not only by editing this page. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them. If you do not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of your period.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.

Before anything formal, please email support@theeasyapply.com. Almost everything is settled faster that way.

[PLACEHOLDER — confirm governing jurisdiction with a lawyer. India is assumed from where the operators are based and has not been verified.]
